Baby Shower

We are having tons of baby showers in HK right now. When we told Arunav before going to one he asked us how are we going to give V-aunty the bath!!

Moms

I got my mom here so she can have a change and relax. But no matter how much I try to take care of her, inevitably she ends up taking care of us! Somethings just cant be reversed.

Arunav tells me, Didun is more kind! I am glad Aarushi has already learnt 1-10 in Bengali, knows her body parts in Bengali and can play "ikir mikir" also :) On a different note, it is mighty uncomfortable to have a pair of grand-parent's eyes always watching you. The children are never wrong, it is always the mum! That hurts even if it comes from your own mamma.

Aarushi again

When we asked her,"Aarushi do you want to sleep now?"
"Yes mama, but my poo poo wants to come out before!"

She wanted to play behind the bushes and we said, "There are mosquitoes there."
"I am bigger than mosquito!" was her reason.

Mother's guilt syndrome

Raising a child is challenging in many ways - one of them being accepting the deficiencies of your child whom you want to be near perfect even though none of us are! And when we cant do anything about them being human, we try to explain their deficiency. I think Arunav cannot run as fast and his legs seem a bit weak because I did not take Calcium supplements during my pregnancy - no matter how much my rational and well-read mind tries to explain that is supposed to harm me, not my child as much. A friend yesterday confided, she thinks her boy is a bit moody, reserved and gets angry because that's how she was when she was carrying him.... if mother's pregnancy mood swings affected all children born - we wouldn't be having many happy children I guess.

Our eternal strife to make ourselves believe our little treasure would have been perfect had it not been for something we did!
