First child's reaction towards the second born
"I like Aarushi, but I dont like Aarushi with mummum" - those were the exact words of Arunav yesterday when I was about to take Aarushi(his sister). This was the first time he has expressed what he feels towards his sister and I was impressed at the clarity with which he could communicate his feelings. He is just 2 yr 10 months.
Sometimes I wonder whether it is fair on the first kid when the second kid comes so soon - before (s)he is matured enough to handle the emotional change. The other day Sang told me something which made so much sense. If we want to know what the kid is going through, we have to think of how we would feel if our spouse brought home another partner to live in the family - it is the exact same feeling.
The analogy - though a very strong one - has made me more tolerant of Arunav's reactions.
