Breaking of Bricks

We have a stethoscope at home. Today Arunav put it against my heart and after a few trials he could hear my heartbeat. To make sure he really heard it, I asked him what type of noise do you hear, can you tell me? I was expecting he will say something like,"dum dum or dhak dhak..." But he said,"Mummum, it is like breaking of brick." :)
Then he put it against his heart and said,"Mummum, in me the bricks are breaking very fast!" :))

Graduation

I always used to find it very funny to hear about "graduation ceremony" for each class kids complete - for me, coming from India, graduation is a long term goal :) Last week, Arunav had his graduation ceremony from Small World. This is his last term here, he will be joining the big school from September. It was a small step and yet I found I warmed to the whole concept - they say kids change you......

Papa's girl

Aarushi is incredibly glad whenever Shyam pays her attention - this is her expression - "ahlade gole jol" (sorry for the Bengali expression - but it's absolutely impossible for me to translate that) :)

Things more sublime

We were walking back from the school bus-stop after picking up Arunav. On the pavement was a small dead bird - it was looking really beautiful - parrot green colour had still not faded. Since we were face to face with it, the best I could think of was tell Arunav to pray for the dead bird. Arunav asked,"If I pray will it be alive again?" I said," No."

His next question was,"Then if I pray what will become better?" (he could not have put the question better!)

Since 'soul' and 'heaven' are concepts I have not really breached with him yet, the next few moments were tough for me.

Fun at Taikoo Shing

We all had a nice time at Taikoo Shing's City Plaza, but specially Arunav and his friend, Reet. Here they are trying to copy the movement of fish. There's a nice park for children right in front of City Plaza which they enjoyed a lot too... The place also has a really big jumping gym! Arunav cant have enough of 'bowling'.

Looking at the world upside down

This is Aarushi's recent craze....she absolutely loves doing it and if we peep in she is highly thrilled. She also loves copying Arunav now - like walking on her knees, trying to hop - it is fun watching them play together (they are fleeting moments though :)
