Making a choice
I was late in office today and 'papa' is off to a business trip. When that long long meeting of 'strategizing' and 'positioning' of project priorities was finally over I could all but grab my coat and bag and run for life. As I ran down the road to the station I did not have any other thought in my mind - it was blank but just for the face of my little child who I could imagine waiting for me as he watches other mommies and papas coming to pick up the other babies. When I finally reached the childcare, I could hear him crying even as I was entering the place ...... all that the babysitter told me when he handed him over to me was 'He knows the time you normally pick him up and at 5.30pm he was just looking at the door - he just kept looking for you......' That was the last straw in my whole anguish....I could not stop those tears anymore.
I guess it is time for me to make my choice. One always has to, however tough they are.
